FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (SWVO) – As fall colors continue to spread across West Virginia, residents and visitors can watch the changing leaves in the New River Gorge region from the comfort of their homes through two live cameras.

The cameras, located at Babcock State Park and the Canyon Rim area of New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, offer views of the region as autumn foliage develops.

The Babcock State Park live camera provides a look at one of West Virginia’s most photographed locations, the historic Glade Creek Grist Mill, surrounded by trees that display vibrant colors during the fall season.

A second camera, operated by the National Park Service, provides views from the Canyon Rim area of New River Gorge National Park and Preserve, allowing viewers to monitor fall colors throughout the gorge.

The cameras come as the West Virginia Department of Tourism released its third official fall foliage report of 2026, along with an updated statewide foliage map.

According to the department, Babcock State Park, Summersville Lake State Park, Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park, and New River Gorge National Park and Preserve are among the top destinations for viewing fall colors this week.

The changing leaves also coincide with Bridge Day, West Virginia’s largest single-day event, scheduled for Saturday, October 17, at the New River Gorge Bridge.

Thousands of visitors are expected to travel to the area for the annual celebration, which will provide an opportunity to experience the region’s fall scenery.

The Department of Tourism is encouraging residents and visitors to share their fall foliage photographs on social media using #AlmostHeaven and tagging @wvtourism.
