GLEN JEAN, WV (SWVO) – In June, New River Gorge National Park & Preserve (NRGNP&P) recorded its highest number of visitors in the month of June.
According to visitation statistics from the National Park Service, 266,425 people visited NRGNP&P in June 2025.
That’s a new record according to available statistics going back to 1992.
In June 2024, the park recorded 233,731 visitors.
In 2024, the park recorded its highest-ever number of visitors in a year with 1,811,937 visitors.
The New River Gorge has been a part of the National Park Service system since 1978 as a national river and was redesignated as a national park & preserve in December 2020.
