LANSING, WV (SWVO) – New River Gorge National Park & Preserve is currently feeling the effects of the ongoing federal government shutdown.
According to sources familiar with the matter, all visitor centers within the park will be closed during the shutdown.
Ranger-led programs are also on hold as park staff are currently furloughed.
Visitors can also expect no litter pickup, emptying of trash cans, and toilet paper restocking in restrooms.
Park trails and all other areas of the park remain open at this time.
