THURMOND, WV (SWVO) – Although Thurmond isn’t officially a ghost town with just a few residents still living there, that hasn’t stopped paranormal enthusiasts from scoping out the place for ghosts.
One organization in particular, Appalachian Ghost Tours, is hosting a ghost tour of Thurmond on Saturday, July 12.
The event will also feature hot dogs and drinks at 7 PM with the tour beginning at 8 PM and lasting until midnight.
The tour will have access to three town-owned buildings, the streets of Thurmond, and the Dun Glen Day Use Area.
Tickets for the event are $25 and can be purchased here.
Thurmond was a once booming railroad town in the New River Gorge and was home to between 400-500 residents at one point. It’s now only home to 3-4 full time residents.
