SOUTH CHARLESTON, WV (SWVO) – Shoppers in West Virginia may notice higher prices during their next visit to Dollar Tree, as the discount retailer begins raising prices on select items beyond the standard $1.25.
At a Dollar Tree location in South Charleston, multiple products have recently been marked with red stickers, indicating price increases to $1.50, $1.75, and even $2.

While not all merchandise has been affected, several sections — including calendars, planners, bath textiles, floral vases, and mop and broom accessories — now carry higher price tags.
The changes appear to be part of a broader pricing shift.
According to Business Insider, Dollar Tree began rolling out these increases in select stores nationwide as of late June.
It remains unclear whether the adjustments will remain limited to specific items or if they signal a more widespread pricing restructure across all stores.
Dollar Tree has already introduced a “Dollar Tree Plus” section in many locations, offering higher-priced items. However, the new price increases appear to extend beyond that section, affecting traditionally low-cost staples.
Company officials have not issued a public statement specific to the West Virginia locations, and it is unknown how many stores across the state will implement the changes.
