
FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (SWVO) – Bridge Day 2025 attracted more than 120,000 visitors to the New River Gorge, taking advantage of near-perfect weather to enjoy the region’s signature festival.
The annual event, held Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., offered attendees breathtaking views from the New River Gorge Bridge, live vendor displays, and daring performances by BASE jumpers and other adventure athletes.
Roads reopened later that evening, allowing traffic to return to normal.
Crowds remained steady throughout the day, with hundreds still waiting for shuttle service to the bridge in the afternoon.
U.S. Route 19 was heavily lined with vehicles as attendees sought convenient parking to walk to the festivities.
Event Highlights:
- More than 200 vendors from 12 states showcased a variety of goods and services.
- Over 300 BASE jumpers representing 39 states and four countries took part in the event, alongside more than 200 rappellers and 100 highliners.
- The Active Southern West Virginia Bridge Day 5K attracted over 500 runners from 26 states.
