HAMPSHIRE COUNTY, WV (SWVO) – A woman remains missing after she was overtaken by high water at a campground in Hampshire County on Monday.
The incident occurred at Wapocoma Campground, located along the South Branch of the Potomac River about five miles south of Romney.
Authorities said the woman was with her two children when rising water overtook them. Both children were able to make it to safety, but their mother remains missing.
Search efforts are expected to resume Tuesday as crews continue looking for the woman.
