KANAWHA COUNTY, WV (SWVO) – A portion of the West Virginia Turnpike is currently shutdown due to high water.
According to West Virginia 511, the northbound lanes of the West Virginia Turnpike near the toll booths at mile marker 77.5 in Kanawha County are currently closed.
There is currently no official word on when the road may reopen.
The West Virginia 511 map shows heavy traffic in the area.
This closure comes following widespread flooding issues occurring in West Virginia Thursday evening.
