CLIFFTOP, WV (SWVO) – Babcock State Park, one of West Virginia’s most iconic destinations, spanning 4,127 acres of breathtaking natural beauty, has opened for the 2025 season.
Just 20 miles southeast of the New River Gorge Bridge, the park is best known for the Glade Creek Grist Mill—a fully operational replica of the original Cooper’s Mill that once stood on the site.
Visitors can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities, including hiking, fishing, and mountain biking, with whitewater rafting adventures available nearby in the New River Gorge.
Although the main entrance to the park remains open year-round which includes access to Boley Lake and views of the Glade Creek Grist Mill, all other areas of the park are closed to vehicles.
With the park now officially open for the season, cabins are now open for reservations along with the campground.

The opening of the cabins also allow for vehicle access to multiple trails, two scenic overlooks, picnic shelters, and the playground within the park.
